Tory White, Psychotherapist
Hi, I’m Tory. I am a psychotherapist here at Be Well Collingwood. I provide an effective approach to counselling tailored to the individual needs of my clients. My scope of practice works mainly within the framework of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Mindfulness. My main task as a counsellor is to provide therapy services that help my clients live their lives with authenticity and meaning, and realize their true potential. I provide a warm, collaborative and non-judgmental environment to explore issues, gain a deeper self-understanding and develop new ways of thinking, feeling and relating to others. My areas of expertise include working with youth struggling with anxiety, fear, life changes and challenges, self-esteem, learning disabilities and ADHD.
I am a qualifying Registered Psychotherapist providing psychological services under the supervision of Dr. Jacqueline Rynard who is a Registered Psychologist with the College of Psychologists of Ontario, licensed for both Clinical Psychology and School Psychology.
You can view my personal counselling website at www.torywhitecounselling.com.
Psychological therapy sessions are 50 minutes long, with the remaining 10 minutes of the hour being set aside for notes, treatment planning, and file maintenance.
Fees for psychotherapy services are not covered by the Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP). Coverage for psychotherapy services is often provided through private extended health insurance plans, workplace benefits, or employee assistance plans. For more information about our psychotherapy fees visit our fee page.
In cases when you do not have a lot of coverage, you should consider that short-term therapy could be completed in 3 to 5 sessions. A little therapy is often better than no therapy. One or two sessions can sometimes be instrumental in helping you learn about yourself, your needs, and how to best tackle your mental health problems.
